The project

Specializing in data collection and management, Siplec collaborates closely with its client and fellow E.Leclerc member, GALEC.

Collaboration and data quality are the cornerstones of a sustainable and healthy partnership between the two entities.

To improve the quality of its product listings and the collection of product information from its suppliers, GALEC recently decided to implement the Alice project.

Siplec, as a preferred supplier, enhances the collection of product information from its suppliers during the tendering process using expert PLM software.

To guarantee the quality of information from collection to publication on the E.Leclerc e-commerce site, Siplec sought to optimize the commercial collaboration processes between itself and GALEC and to establish a data governance framework to streamline data collection.

The objective was to:

  • Identify the obstacles to change within the business teams and any potential functional gaps related to the version upgrade.
  • Analyze possible solutions in collaboration with the internal IT team and/or software vendors, and formulate concrete recommendations.
  • Manage the Data Governance framework and the data collection roadmap based on the successive releases in the various markets.

The context

Siplec launched the CALYPSO project to upgrade its Centric Software PLM expert software.

Siplec faced the challenge of onboarding business teams to the project and helping them adapt their work habits.

Following the upgrade of their PLM software, Siplec contacted us to identify the challenges encountered (pain points) and areas for improvement for operational staff related to information systems.

The objectives were to:

  • identify the obstacles to change for business teams and any potential functional gaps related to the upgrade
  • analyze possible solutions in collaboration with the internal IT team and/or the software vendors, and formulate concrete recommendations
  • and support the business teams, particularly the Bazaar team, through the change process and propose an innovative eLearning solution to facilitate team onboarding to the PLM system.

The mission

As part of this mission to optimize product listings with the E.Leclerc Group, we undertook the following actions for our client:

  • Organization of participatory workshops to identify pain points and find quick wins regarding the availability of Siplec offers to GALEC via the Product Repository (SALSIFY XM).
  • Formalization of processes and tools, and support for business teams in conducting user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Support for business teams in implementing a data governance framework to support the evolution of the Product Repository (SALSIFY XM).
  • Facilitating data governance steering committees with the GALEC, L.COMMERCE, SIPLEC Business teams, and the SALSIFY software vendor.
  • Finally, special attention was paid to the relationship between Siplec and Galec to ensure the monitoring of the Alice project, guarantee harmonious collaboration and quality data entry in the Product repository (SALSIFY XM).

The benefits

  • We were able to leverage our expertise in the retail sector, specializing in product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, to support Siplec in deploying the Alice program.
  • Our expertise played a key role in the success of the project, enabling Siplec to move forward effectively with the implementation of the Alice program (Alice Offer and Alice Reference Data), while adhering to the requirements of the retail sector, the GS1 standard for product data quality, and maximizing synergies between the various teams.
